The goal of the study is to collect recordings of people saying words and sentences so we can train a computer to recognize clear and unclear productions. In the future this would help provide computer-based home practice for children with speech difficulties.
Who is eligible to participate?
English speaking children, aged 8 – 17 years, with “s” misarticulations
What will the study involve?
This study will be completed online via Zoom
After completing the informed consent/assent process:
- Children will name pictures, read words/sentences, and imitate words/sentences
- Parents will complete questionnaires via an online portal
The evaluation portion is expected to last up to 1.5 hours
